Dr. Ali A. Butt is a highly accomplished professional with a doctorate degree in transport infrastructures, boasting extensive experience in managing both state and federal research projects. His expertise spans a wide range of research topics, including life cycle assessment (environmental and social LCA), urban metabolism, complete streets, asphalt and concrete construction materials, and pavement-vehicle interaction. Dr. Butt is an active member of the Academy of Pavement Science and Engineering (APSE) and serves as an advisory member of the Conference of European Road Directors and the Federal Highway Administration’s Community of Knowledge.

Dr. Butt's valuable insights and expertise are widely recognized within the academic community, as he diligently fulfills the role of a reviewer for prestigious journals. With a passion for research and teaching, Dr. Butt has made substantial contributions to the field through his publications, including 16 journal articles, 26 conference papers, and 20 technical reports (funded by state and federal agencies), in addition to several policy/research briefs and white papers. Dr. Butt earned his BE degree in Civil Engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology (Pakistan) and his MSc and PhD from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden)."
